Before his appointment as judge, Samuel Granata was an IP-lawyer/mediator and university assistant at the Catholic University of Law (Louvain, Belgium). Besides acting as a judge on a national (Court of Appeal Antwerp/Belgium – IP and Distribution Law Chamber) and international level (UPC and Benelux Court of Justice), Samuel acts as President of the Disciplinary Board of the Institute of Belgian Patent Agents.
